Kim Kardashian struggles to walk in crazy stilettos at Met Gala

Lili Reinhart said Kim Kardashian's 'ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting' after the reality star detailed a strict regimen she underwent to fit into Marilyn Monroe's gown for Monday's Met Gala.

The 25-year-old actress took to Instagram Stories Tuesday with a series of incendiary remarks seemingly aimed at the 41-year-old socialite for setting a poor example for her fans, after Kardashian spoke glowingly about the strenuous combination of diet and exercise she adhered to in losing 16 pounds in a three-week span in preparation for the annual event.

'To walk a red carpet and do an interview saying how starving you are because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month … all to fit in a f***ing dress?' the Cleveland native said on the social media site.

The latest: Lili Reinhart, 25, said Kim Kardashian's 'ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting' after the reality star, 41, detailed a strict regimen she underwent to fit into Marilyn Monroe's gown for Monday's Met Gala

She continued: 'So wrong. So f***ed on 100’s of levels. To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you knew very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word.'

Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper on Riverdale, said that 'the ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting' in making a plea to her fans in support of body positivity.

'I am generally not an angry person,' Reinhart said, 'but I swear to God the toxicity of this industry sometimes really gets to me and I have to do my little Instagram Story rants to release my rage.'

Reinhart's social media statement came after Kardashian revealed the weight loss process she underwent to fit into the gown Monroe wore to President John F. Kennedy’s birthday bash in 1962, where she famously sang Happy Birthday to him.

Kardashian told Vogue she didn't initially fit into the garment, which had been on display at Orlando, Florida's Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum.

'When it didn’t fit me I wanted to cry because it can’t be altered at all,' she said. 'I looked at them, and I said, give me three weeks, and I had to lose 16 pounds down [to] today to be able to fit this. It was such a challenge, it was like a role. I was determined to fit into it. I don’t think they believed I was going to do it, but I did it.'

The mother-of-four went into detail about the daunting regimen she went through to meet her weight loss goal.

'I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein,' she said. 'I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.'

Kardashian, who was accompanied to the event by boyfriend Pete Davidson, garnered attention for donning the gown, which has more than 2,500 handstitched crystals

Reinhart has past been outspoken about the issue at hand, as she took to Instagram Stories in January with a candid statement to her 29 million followers about body image.

'I’ve been struggling with obsessive thoughts about my body/weight the last few months and it’s gotten pretty severe in the last week,' Reinhart said. 'So I want to take a moment to be vulnerable and share this in the hope that any of you who are also struggling don’t feel so alone. I’m here with you. It’s challenging to look at your body with love instead of criticism. It’s a practice I’m still learning.'

Reinhart attributed some of her issues to being in the appearance-driven entertainment business.
